Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DropRandom website at https://www.droprandom.com and all its language subpaths, together with any tools, content, and services we provide there (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

DropRandom is a free, browser-based set of fairness and decision-making tools, currently including a Random Picker and a Ladder Game (사다리타기 / Amida-kuji), plus accompanying editorial guides. The Service is intended for personal, educational, and informal organizational use such as giveaways, classroom activities, team decisions, and games. All randomization runs in your browser; no inputs are transmitted to our servers.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You may use the Service for any lawful purpose, including:

  • Drawing winners for personal or business giveaways.
  • Selecting students, employees, or volunteers for tasks or activities.
  • Resolving group decisions fairly through randomization.
  • Playing ladder games and other fairness games informally.

5. Prohibited Use

You may NOT use the Service to:

  • Conduct a regulated lottery, sweepstakes, or gambling activity that requires a license or audited random number generator. The randomization provided by the Service is suitable for informal use only.
  • Defraud users or third parties.
  • Violate any applicable law, including consumer protection, advertising disclosure, and tax reporting laws.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to overload the Service.
  • Use automated bots or scripts to misrepresent randomness or generate false outcomes.
  • Re-publish or redistribute our content without permission.
  • Use the Service in connection with content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, infringing of intellectual property, or that exploits or endangers minors.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all source code, design, illustrations, logos, editorial articles, and underlying compilations, is the intellectual property of DropRandom or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for the purposes set out in these Terms. You may share links freely. You may NOT copy substantial portions of our editorial content without prior written permission.

7. User Inputs and Outputs

The names, items, prompts, and other content you enter into the Service ("User Inputs") remain entirely on your device. We do not claim ownership of your User Inputs and we have no ability to read, store, or use them.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses. We do not warrant that the randomization meets any specific statistical, cryptographic, or regulatory standard; it relies on standard browser pseudo-random number generators, suitable for casual fairness applications but not for cryptographic, financial, or legally regulated uses.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL DROPRANDOM BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater. Because the Service is free, this amount is typically zero.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DropRandom and its operators from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your User Inputs, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Advertisements

The Service is supported by third-party advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense. By using the Service you acknowledge that advertisements will be displayed and that those advertisements are provided by third parties subject to their own terms and privacy policies. 12. Modifications and Discontinuation

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice. Continued use after a Terms update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may also block your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 14 survive termination.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute arising from your use of the Service will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
