1. Introduction

DropRandom ("DropRandom," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website https://www.droprandom.com and its subpaths in nine languages (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Service, what information is not collected, which third parties may receive information through embedded scripts, and the rights you have over your data under applicable laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the United Kingdom Data Protection Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

By using the Service you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Data we do NOT collect

DropRandom is a static, browser-based tool. The names, items, and outcomes you enter into the Random Picker or Ladder Game stay in your browser's memory. They are never transmitted to our servers (we do not run any server that receives your inputs), they are not stored anywhere by us, and they are not visible to us or to any third party. Closing the tab or pressing refresh deletes them.

Specifically, we do not collect: the names or items you enter; the winners drawn; your IP address (we do not log it); your email address (unless you voluntarily email us); login credentials (there is no account system).

3. Data that third-party services collect on your visit

While we do not run a server, we embed third-party scripts that may collect data independently of us. You should review each third party's own privacy policy.

3.1 Google AdSense (advertising)

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Service. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

3.2 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-PNB4BQQFVB) to understand aggregate, anonymized usage of the Service — pages visited, country, device type, and similar visit metadata. Google Analytics may set cookies (_ga, _gid, etc.) on your browser. IP anonymization is enabled where supported. You may opt out using the official Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.

3.3 Other embedded third parties

  • Google Fonts — loads the Outfit and Inter typefaces.
  • Kakao SDK — loaded only on the Random Picker and Ladder Game pages to enable optional sharing to KakaoTalk.
  • Buy Me a Coffee widget — a small floating support button.
  • FlagCDN, Simple Icons, cdnjs — content delivery networks for flag images and brand icons.
  • Cloudflare Pages — our static hosting provider. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The Service uses the following categories of cookies and storage:

  • Strictly necessary: a small sessionStorage flag to detect whether you are viewing the site inside our Android app.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics cookies (see 3.2).
  • Advertising: Google AdSense / DoubleClick cookies (see 3.1).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies will not stop the picker or ladder game from working.

5. Children's privacy (COPPA)

The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact privacy@droprandom.com and we will delete that information.

6. Your rights under GDPR (EU/EEA & UK users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to a supervisory authority. The lawful bases are consent for advertising and analytics cookies, and legitimate interests for security and operation of the Service. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@droprandom.com.

7. Your rights under CCPA / CPRA (California residents)

If you are a California resident, you have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, limit use of sensitive personal information, and not be discriminated against. The use of advertising cookies set by Google AdSense may constitute "sharing" under California law. To opt out, use the Google Ads Settings link in section 3.1 or your browser's Global Privacy Control.

8. International data transfers

The Service is operated globally. Third-party services we embed may process data in the United States, the European Union, or elsewhere. Where personal data is transferred outside your country, those transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or other lawful mechanisms.

9. Data retention

Because we do not collect personal data on our own servers, we have no data retention period for inputs you enter on the Service. Third-party services we embed each have their own retention policies — Google retains AdSense and Analytics data per its standard schedules (typically up to 26 months).

10. Security

The Service is served over HTTPS exclusively. We do not collect or store user inputs, so there is nothing for us to lose in a data breach of our own systems.

11. Links to external sites

The Service contains links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for at least 30 days.
